Very simple. The Messiah is waiting for us. But our ego and the dark side has duped us into waiting for him. Now, here’s WHY we keep blowing it. To ignite his arrival, we must transform our consciousness.
Because a Trump-hating activist would have to let go of all the hate and find, if not love, at least dignity and goodness inside Trump. The determined, anti-Trump activist would have to be able to transcend his or her own current opinions and beliefs and realize there are two sides to everything and that we are blinded by our ego. THAT recognition and change of consciousness is what it takes to ignite the Messiah.
See how hard it is? Our ego will now justify, rationalize all of our judgment and point the finger of blame at the Donald.
We need a critical mass of people who can wage a courageous battle against one’s own preconceived notions of the world. I use this Trump example ONLY to show how freaking hard it is to change ourselves and let go of our hate and opinions.
And there you have it: This lack of change is why the Messiah has not yet arrived.
As a final thought, it’s interesting that the Hebrew numerical value of “Donald Trump” is identical to the numerical value of “Messiah, son of David”.
I am not saying Trump is the Messiah. And if you are freaking out right now, you are reactive and THIS is the problem I am referring to.
But perhaps Trump is a mirror and a force that brings out the best in people (his supporters), and brings out the absolute worst in people (his detractors), to show us what we need to change in ourselves. Squeeze a fruit and you find out what’s inside. Trump has squeezed us. Those who have been to hell and back and learned to change, they have no issue with Trump. Those of us who have refrained from change and still cling to our egos and agendas, we find everything wrong in Trump.
The politically correct nonsense that we hide behind, all the praise and honor that we seek for ego gratification, it’s all crumbling and Trump is a mirror of what we subconsciously do not like about ourselves and what we need to change.
We are fighting that change.
Again, it’s subconscious. So we project this onto Trump and others.
Same goes for Hillary detractors. If you have changed, if you’ve already endured the pain of transformation and confronted your own demons, you innately do not judge the demons in others. You see their soul. You see the true self.
Because it’s NEVER about the leaders. It’s only about us. Leaders are a mirror and reflection of what we need to change.
The Zohar says as we approach the arrival of the Messiah, the middle gray areas will vanish and people will be forced to choose sides. Compassion and transformation, or judgment towards others and remaining stuck in our own opinions and viewpoints without opening up a little.
Truth and positive global change often comes in strange or unpleasant garments to test us. Like a diamond ring being packaged inside an ugly paper bag. If you judge the bag, you throw away the diamond ring inside.
Admit it. Some of us would rather see this country fail when it comes to Trump’s policies. We are not happy that Blacks, Hispanics and women are at the lowest unemployment rate in history. We’d rather hear bad news just to kick Trump out of office.
Again, I am not making a political statement or argument. I am making a statement about consciousness. Because that’s how life works. The Messiah is not coming riding on a royal carriage with glorious white horses. He rides on a smelly, dirty donkey. Get it? The Kabbalists say we will not recognize or understand who the Messiah is because our expectations, filtered by our need for political correctness, egocentricity and our tightly held views, will blind us.
We allow our own egos to undermine success because it hurts so damn much to admit we are wrong or to give up some ego. Giving up ego is like ripping skin. We would rather die than give up the ego. And that is why the Messiah has not arrived.
This is where we are now.
Where we go next is up to each of us.
Right on, Billy! I agree 100%.
Wow! Amazing.
That is quite a concept. I understand happenings around us are a reflection of what is within us, I’m not arguing that at all.
And I mean no disrespect. Yet I cannot help but be curious though, would you have been able to write this with such ease if the conversation was about Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Because I believe the potentials or possibilities, could lead to a tragically similar result.
Different…but similar.
I suppose it would be good if I read through your archives to see what might have said about the Holocaust as a foundation for this writing.
I note Edna’s comment was made Oct 19, 2019. What an 11 months we’ve had since.
I agree Adolph Hitler had a soul and was a reflection of the collective consciousness during his reign. I think it is safe to say he was not a champion for human dignity.
Can we say Donald Trump is a champion for human dignity?
In my view evil has a purpose. It is to allow humanity to see the Light in everything.
I can look within and work to transform the evil within me.
When Rabbi Akiva was tortured to death by the Romans, he said the Shema and was happy to die close to the Creator. How many deaths do we need to endure?
Most of us have the power of the vote. Use it wisely.
