BEING WITH THE RAV IN MEXICO

I was in Mexico many years ago with Kabbalist Rav Berg, Karen and Yehuda and Michael. About 15 of us were on the balcony of the hotel in Puerto Vallarta when a 7.3 earthquake struck. The entire building and balcony were swaying like a wave in the ocean. Everyone ran out and evacuated the hotel.

Except for the Rav.

The Rav was in the middle of the evening prayer connection. The Rav said, “I’m staying right here to finish the prayer.” My wife and I stayed with the Rav on the balcony because for me, that was the safest place to be. My wife Marianne asked me if we should go. The Rav interrupted and said “You’re staying right here.” I laughed.

The shaking and swaying lasted a good 20 seconds. That feels like an eternity and the end of the world during an earthquake.

After the 20 seconds had passed, the quake stopped.

There should’ve been a ton of damage and injuries and perhaps even loss of life because 7.3 is a whopper!

There was zero damage reported in Mexico. There was no loss of life.

I remember the Rav telling me with a smile that he was happy I stayed with him and had total certainty.

As it turned out, THIS is why we were in Mexico.

Kabbalists always travel to places to prevent the forces of judgment from striking. The world just didn’t know it throughout history.

Later that night Karen said we should open up a Zohar and see what happens. Someone took a volume, opened it and gave it to Karen. The passage was about the earth shaking. I was not surprised. I had experienced so many miracles and connections and synchronicities over the 25 years, I would have been more surprised if there was not a miracle.

Looking back, that trip was amazing. Every morning around 8:00 AM, I would come to the Rav’s balcony and we prayed the morning connection. It was heavenly. The air was warm with a touch of coolness and the sky was bluer than sapphire. By noon it would climb to around 80 degrees. But during that morning, sitting on the balcony overlooking the bay in the Pacific Ocean, connecting with the Rav, it was a transcendent feeling. I’m so happy that I appreciated those moments during that time. I knew it was special as I sat there and I did not take it for granted.

The breakfasts were also special. We had an amazing chef cooking breakfast for all of us each morning. You have not tasted Mexican cheese, burritos, eggs, nachos and  other fine dishes until you’ve eaten them in Puerto Vallarta. Mexican food in the US doesn’t come remotely close.

Anyway, I had not been back to Mexico for about 6-7 years. Then the Rav went back during his last swing through South America, which turned out to be The Rav’s last major trip.

The Rav was there with Yehuda, and it was also the Rav’s first journey back to Mexico since our trip.

Wouldn’t you know it—another earthquake struck, this time bigger at 7.6!

There had been zero report of damage and zero loss of life, once again.

It’s interesting to note that Yehuda’s family flew back to Los Angeles right after that Shabbat.
But Yehuda and the Rav stayed behind for some reason and it turns out that is why they were there that day when the quake hit.

Chaos can leave zero damage in our lives and turmoil can have zero effect upon our personal existence, no matter how bad it might appear before our eyes — provided, we keep our certainty and have the power of the Zohar—and a Kabbalist nearby.

That is the take away from those two events for those who have eyes that see and ears that can hear.

Much similar to when Abraham was talking with the creator about sparing the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah from judgement. Thank you for your articles as always Billy. Keep up the great work.

I remember the Rav in Kabbalah Center in Tecamachalco. I was there so many times! Was a privilage for me to make a Shabbat whith him, the night prayers, yes is heavenly, absolutely celestial! I’m pretty shure the Rav was working in that moments of earthquakes. After all, in Mexico, kabbalah knowledge is increasing. Hope some day we can get the peace we need to live a good life, like before in my childhood time. And yes Billy, the in USA the “mexican” food is nothing about the real mexican flavors here. Is the energy. My love for you and your family, and forever My beloved Rav Berg will remain in my heart, mind, life.
