EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT LIFE
November 13, 2013
Here it is. Bite-size bits of wisdom as profound and deep as they are simple, short and sweet. This is the wisdom of the ages, the oldest wisdom on earth, the wisdom that not only makes one more knowledgeable, but also elevates the soul and our consciousness, which makes us more pure, clear, enlightened and deeply contented.
Here we go:
1. Most times—not all the time—but most of the time, we are not looking for the truth. We think we are, but we are not. We are looking for facts and evidence to support what we already believe or desperately want to believe. The quest for truth is the most difficult path in life. The ability to embrace the truth once we find it requires almost super-human courage and will. If you know ahead of time that truth will shake you to the bone, you will draw the courage from the Light hear the truth so that you be able to live the truth.
2. We must believe in God to be willing to serve God. An atheist would never consider observing any practice relating to a Creator without a belief in the Creator. However, none of us—including atheists—have to believe in the Opponent (“The power called Satan”) in order to serve him. In fact, if we did believe in his existence and if we truly understood his role, we would never serve him.
Doubt in his existence is the key to his survival and power. Look around the world. He’s been winning.
3. The Torah and the Bibles of many religions often instruct us to kill our enemies including men, women, children. Biblical scripture, by design, is a code. The enemy is our own ego. Period. The enemy is our doubts about the existence of the Opponent and enemy that lives within us (see #2 above).
The true meaning behind the ancient Biblical directive to wipe out our enemy—men, women and children—actually means to wipe out every trace of our own ugly ego.
Men, refers to the male principle of our ego. The sharing part of it. We often share for the sake of gaining praise and adulation from others. We want our name on a plaque. We want applause and recognition. We need to wipe that out and master the art of sharing unconditionally, which means anonymously.
Women refers to the female principle of our ego. We receive and take from this world and from others without ever considering someone else’s needs.
Children refers to the small, seemingly insignificant aspects of our ego. These are usually the most dangerous. Why? We believe a small infraction is no big deal. Wrong! The Opponent first convinces us to commit small acts of ego so that we do not catch onto him. Now he can get inside of us and gain control over us. These small actions accumulate so that our ego grows and our behavior becomes adulterated into full-blown ugly acts of ego.
This is how we commit atrocities large and small.
