Twin Towers

Shimon Sarfatti has been a student of Rav Berg and a teacher at the Kabbalah Centre for a few decades now. He is known throughout the world as an individual with simple trust in his teacher and unshakeable certainty in the wisdom of the Zohar. Here is another one of his stories.

About six months before 9-11, I had an Israeli student in a Kabbalah One course at the Centre. We had a personal meeting after a class. She was unempoloyed for more than a year. She didn’t know what to do. “I almost have nothing left in my bank account,” she told me. So I told her it was time to purchase a set of the Zohar. We had the 22 volume Hebrew set at the time which sold for $345. She had a strange expression on her face. She told me that was the exact amount of money she had left in her account. I told her to buy it. And with the last money she had in the bank, she purchased her Zohar.

Two weeks later she finds a nice job. She stood up in the Kabbalah Class and shared her story. She had found an amazing job. She trained dentists and dental assistants on the use of professional laser whitening teeth equipment. Now she would be traveling all over the world. She told the class she was grateful for the Zohar and her miracle.

So a quite few months later she called me crying. “Shimon, I just got fired from my job.” Suddenly, she had turned a little negative and asked why the Zohar  didn’t work. She started to doubt and then asked me for an explanation.

Let me turn to another story just for a moment, so you will understand the answer that I gave her. Back in the early days of the Centre, myself and all the teachers did a lot of door knocking to spread Kabbalah and sell Zohars and Kabbalah books. I was in New York at the time and the Rav  (Kabbalist Rav Berg) told me to knock on a specific door. It was the business office of a very well-known businessman. For privacy reasons I cannot mention his name. Anyway he was  having drug problems and marital problems. I had no idea how I was going to get to meet him. So I went to his office and I lied to his secretary and said that I knew him. So he comes out and says, “Who are you?” I said was from the Kabbalah Centre. He threw me out of the building. I went back to the Rav disappointed and said, “I failed, he threw me out.” The Rav smiled and said, “Did you shake his hand?” I said yes. “Good,” the Rav said, “One day he will come to learn Kabbalah.”

Twenty three years later, I am in Los Angeles. I get a phone call from one of our students, Philip Sitbon. He tells me there is someone who really wants to learn Kabbalah. It was the guy! I met with him, but did not mention what happened twenty-three years earlier. Anyway, he began studying. The point is, the Rav taught me there are two realities, the 1%, the Tree of Knowledge, and the 99%, the Tree of Life, which is true reality. In the Tree of Life reality, there is no time. So the Rav told that I had accomplished the task the day the Rav sent me to meet guy two decades earlier. But because we live in the Tree of Knowledge dimension, it might take a month, a year or ten years for something to manifest. The key is not doubt and to not allow uncertainty to affect our consciousness. If we do, then we will delay the result and our doubt will become reality.

Why am I telling you this story?

Because when the Israeli women told me she had lost her job and she asked me why the Zohar no longer worked, I knew I had to be certain in my own mind first. Then, I had to tell her to have total certainty and realize there is a reason this happened because the Zohar always works if we get out of our own way.

So I  told her to keep her certainty. All of this happened about a month before September 11, 2001. Anyway, the day arrives. 9-11. The Twin Towers come down.

The next day she called me crying.

Told me she was trembling.

“What happened?” I asked.

She said she had her travel schedule in her hand from her old job. Before she was fired, she had made a reservation on one of the planes that hit the Twin Towers.

If she hadn’t been fired thirty days before, she would have been on that plane.
