Wanted to tell you about what happened to us the Monday after I arrived home from Florida. I finished work a little late and went to pick up the kids from school because I was late they had already started walking home. They said they pushed the button for the crosswalk light and when it turned green for them to walk they took off running. They had just gotten past the middle of the street when a car ran the red light. The car just missed hitting them.
A lady who was waiting to take a right hand turn saw the car coming and put her hand over her eyes. I guess she didn’t want to see them get hit because my son Andre said he was one step from being hit. He said he saw the car in the corner of his eyes and quickly put his hand in front of his younger brother to stop his progress across the street.
My two boys ever the competitors where racing each other across and Andre said to me, “Mom thank God I didn’t let Jakob win because I was the one that had the Zohar in my backpack and I was first. What would have happened if Jakob was first? He doesn’t have one Mom!”
In my processing of the whole situation in my head I went over the events of that morning. What saved them? Thank God I said my morning prayers and scanned the Angels of the Day. And we all listened to the morning connection and the Shofar blowing on the Internet. My Andre said the Shema prayer, and they all did the hand washing. Thank God I paid for RH to be with the Berg Family. So all these thoughts came to me as I was trying to figure out what it was that saved them. But I forgot the biggest tool——the Zohar that was in my son’s backpack!
I was listening to Ruthie’s Zohar class and she was saying that we are still being Judged. The books are still opened, and the judges in the upper world are still weighing the case. In this case the judgement could have gone the other way, but my children had the Zohar and they were protected. The other senario I just can’t spend any time on.
Thank you Rav and Karen for the gift of the Zohar and all the tools of Kabbalah that we have access to.
