EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT LIFE

NOVEMBER 18th, 2013

Here it is. Bite-size bits of wisdom as profound and deep as they are simple, short and sweet. This is the wisdom of the ages, the oldest wisdom on earth, the wisdom that not only makes one more knowledgeable, but also elevates the soul and our consciousness, which makes us more pure, clear, enlightened and deeply contented.

Here we go:

1. “Abra Cadabra” is an Aramaic/kabbalistic word meaning “as i speak i create” indicating the power of the spoken word. Share praise and compliments and good wishes with everyone you meet over the next few days. With each kind word we share, we bring into existence a packet of positive energy (code name: angel) that brings positive influences into our life. With each negative word uttered and each judgmental statement spoken, we arouse a packet of negative energy that tips the balance of our lives towards the negative.

2. Arabs aren’t dying. Israelis aren’t dying. Christians aren’t dying. Filipinos aren’t dying. Syrians aren’t dying. It is human beings who are dying. When we realize we are all God’s children — different, the same way the organs of the body are different with different functions — then the one body of humanity, in all of its diversity, will unite and stop dying.

3. Letting go of negative thoughts is as difficult as giving up a heroin, alcohol or tobacco addiction. We are all addicted to our inner opponent—the human ego. The path and tools of Kabbalah are rehab. The difference is, these tools cure us, instead of helping us to just cope.

4. Life is a game of opposites. Not metaphorically, but literally. Every insult is really a blessing. Every diss, insult and snub is an opportunity. Praise & popularity only set us back in the long run. The choice is instant gratification combined with long-term chaos, or momentary pain on our ego along with long-term fulfillment and blessings.

so enjoying these posts- question- (i am new to kabbalah so please bear with me) on #4 “every diss, insult, snub is an opportunity” – how is this an opportunity to grow? been facing my share of this recently and i know i am reacting the wrong way as every time it happens i am shocked, hurt and confused in the moment. i dont usually confront the person, instead i feel upset and then later make sure other people know how upset i am with said person. i need to know how to handle it right- that make any sense? thanx–

    • In Kabbalah, there is a concept called Tikune, which is very much like Karma. It means somewhere in our past we have planted a negative seed, performed a negative action of self interest, some kind of “reactive” behavior. This places a “curtain”over the Light that shines into this world. The Light of the Creator never left us. Paradise never left us. Perfection never left us. The problem is that individually, and collectively, humanity has erected curtains that block out the Light from shining in our lives. When problems occur, when chaos arises, if we react and worry, we add more curtains and life gets darker. If we realize it is payback from a previous negative deed that we did, whether we remember or not, and pro act instead of react, and we realize the pain is an opportunity to TEAR DOWN the curtain, then that curtain DOES come down and the pain passes and life grows brighter.

I highly recommend this book on kabbalah:
